Welcome to the website of the Urology Department!

Being part of the Clinical Centre of the University of Debrecen, our department provides nationally approved, high quality health care, with a wide range of urologcial interventions and a large number of patients visiting our outpatient department. Eleven physicians are working full-time on our clinic currently and nine of them are specialists. Thanks to the renovations in the last few years, our wards meet the latest requirements. We are continously improving our surgical instruments and tools. We are limited only by our financial means, thus we are trying to take all the applicational opportunities. 
Our urology course is very popular among students, the fact that we always have an over-subscription for our block practices demonstrates this well. The number of Student Research Society presentations, SRS papers and degree theses made in our department is prominently high.

Our Department is currently operating with 50 beds. The mean number of post-operative care days is four, but we make a lot of ambulatory surgeries as well. A great number of our patients come from other regions of Hungary, from the capital city and even from abroad. We assume that this is due to our up-to-par medical attendance and the surgical interventions which are up-to-date even in international terms. Our routine surgeries are performed on a daily basis. To keep the attendance efficient, our personnel receives continious training.
We have a modern, well-equipped operating suite with three operating rooms. For the nursing care of our patients, we have double rooms which have been recently opened and are equipped with bathrooms and private lockers. Our outpatient department operates with three consulting rooms.
In addition to the graduate training, we are actively taking part in the residency training program as well. We offer postgraduate courses to both residents and specialists. Our medical staff participates in numerous congresses taking place in Hungary and abroad. Despite the fact that our main profile is medical attendance, we are collaborating with more and more departments to conduct common research.
